Transfer Guard Inks with Eagles
Emmaus Men's Basketball is thrilled to announce the addition of Noah Simiskey, a 6'0" guard from Katy, Texas, to the men's basketball roster for the upcoming season. A 2022 graduate of Seven Lakes High School and a transfer from Bethany College, Simiskey brings valuable college basketball experience and the character that will contribute to the Eagles Higher Purpose culture.
Simiskey will pursue a double major in Business Administration and Biblical Studies while continuing his athletic career at Emmaus. His decision to transfer was rooted in a strong sense of calling and a desire to grow in a Christ-centered community.
"I am choosing Emmaus because I genuinely believe this is where the Lord led me," Simiskey shared. "The combination of a Christ-centered environment and education that equips me for the future, amazing people, and a great connection with my coaches made it very appealing and easy to choose. I firmly believe Emmaus will help me step into becoming the man God is calling me to be."
During his time at Bethany College, Simiskey made an impact on the court, averaging 6.7 points per game and shooting 37% from three-point range in his freshman season and multiple double digit scoring games.
Head Coach Philip Parker shares his vision for Noah and the team:
I'm excited to welcome Noah to the Eagles Basketball family. He brings not only college experience, but a hunger and love for the game that fits right in with our team. But more than anything Noah is passionate for the Lord and shows it in how he lives and plays the game.
In high school, Simiskey was a three-time team captain and helped lead his team to two undefeated district championships in 2020 and 2022. He was also honored with the Body Armor "Love of the Game" Award, showcasing not only his talent but also his heart for the game.
Noah's excitement for his new chapter extends beyond the hardwood:
"I'm most looking forward to the connections I will make at Emmaus and being in an environment designed to build up the body of Christ. Everyone I have met so far has been incredible. I know I will leave Emmaus with lifelong friendships and deep spiritual growth."
In addition to basketball, Simiskey has served on the welcome team at his previous church and looks forward to getting involved in his new church community in Dubuque.
