Evan Shiels of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin has signed a letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Emmaus under head coach Chris McHugh.
As the first member of the 2022 Men's Soccer signing class, Shiels brings four years of varsity experience as he filled a defensive role and served as team captain while competing for Abundant Life Christian School.
On choosing Emmaus, Evan shared "I chose Emmaus because it fit all my college criteria in what kind of education I was interested in as well as other elements that were appealing to me. Emmaus offers a small campus, sports, affordability and a great meal plan." He added, "I am looking forward to graduating and starting a career, but I am also looking forward to meeting new people, the ability to play soccer this fall and enjoy being a college student!"
"I'm very excited to welcome Evan Shiels to our program for 2022! We enjoyed spending time with him and his father during their visit, and we trust he'll feel at home when he arrives on campus this Fall," shared head coach Chris McHugh. "Evan's been a solid defender for his high school team and brings unique experiences as a person and player to our program. We're looking forward to seeing him play along our back line, and to growing over these next 4 years."
Please join us as we welcome Evan to the Emmaus Athletics family!
