Matte Trick Highlights Senior Day Domination for the Eagles
October 19, 2024 - Dubuque, IA, - Emmaus University delivered an impressive performance at Jack Fish Field, triumphing over Ozark Christian College with a decisive score of 4-1. This victory improves Emmaus's record to 9-5-1 overall and 4-1-0 in conference play.
Josh Matte set the tone with two unassisted goals in the first half on His Senior Day. His brother, Louis Matte, scored one goal and provided an assist to further increase the lead. At halftime, Emmaus led 3-1.
Emmaus continued to dominate in the second half, with Jake Matte capped off the scoring with a goal in the final minutes, assisted by Bennett Kreiner, who also recorded two assists throughout the match. The Matte brothers provided their second Matte Trick of the season.
Emmaus's offensive onslaught resulted in an impressive 33 total shots, with 21 finding their way on target, while Ozark managed only 7 shots total. Defensively, Emmaus was equally impressive, limiting Ozark to just 6 shots on goal, with goalkeeper Tucker Kapas making 5 critical saves.
