Eagles Drop Road Match at Ripon
The Emmaus University men's soccer team (2-2) put up a resilient defensive effort on Tuesday afternoon but ultimately fell 6–0 on the road to Ripon College.
The Eagles held the Red Hawks scoreless through the first half thanks to a strong showing from goalkeeper Tucker Kapas, who recorded five saves in the opening 45 minutes. Despite a heavy shot advantage from Ripon, Emmaus entered the break locked in a 0–0 draw.
Ripon broke through in the 69th minute with a penalty kick and added five more goals in the final 22 minutes to seal the match. Kapas finished the day with a career-high 16 saves on 37 shots faced, including 11 in the second half.
Freshman Claudius Holzman registered the lone shot attempt for Emmaus, while defenders Asuan Tomlinson, Seth Karl, and Bennett Kreiner anchored the back line against relentless Ripon pressure.
Up next for the Eagles is a conference double header on the road against Manhattan Christian (0-3) on Friday at 4:00, then finishing up with Barclay at 12:00 on Saturday.
