Eagles Battle Hard, Season Ends in 2-3 Loss to Grace
Eagles Season Ends
LANSING, Mich. — November 7, 2025
Emmaus University men's soccer capped its season with a spirited effort on the road Friday, falling just short in a 3–2 loss to Grace Christian University in Lansing.
The Eagles struck first in the 15th minute when Claudius Holzman buried a finish off a setup from Sang Mang, giving Emmaus an early 1–0 advantage. Grace Christian responded midway through the half, as Isaac VanderMolen equalized in the 31st minute before assisting Jacobo Ariza's go-ahead goal at the 42:52 mark.
Emmaus came out strong after halftime, with Jake Matte netting the equalizer in the 58th minute on an unassisted effort that brought the score to 2–2. The host Tigers, however, found the winner late, as Ariza struck again in the 79th minute to complete his brace and seal the 3–2 decision.
Despite being outshot 33–7, the Eagles' defensive unit held firm behind a standout performance from goalkeeper Tucker Kapas, who tallied eight saves across 90 minutes. Holzman and Matte each recorded a goal for Emmaus, while Mang earned the team's lone assist.
Emmaus finishes the day with a determined showing, marked by organized defending and efficient finishing, and demonstrates resilience against one of the Midwest Region's top teams.
The Eagles' Season ends with a 3-11-3 Record (Many games were decided by 1-2 goals). The Soccer Team thanks you for your support throughout the season and will improve over the offseason to make this next year the best one yet!
