Lady Eagles fight through nerves and injuries to start the season 1-0
Coach Graw had this to say about coming into the first game. "I really didn't know what to expect with so many girls out, specifically the experienced players. I was very nervous as we took the court with 3 experienced players with the rest of the team being all freshman against an NAIA opponent."

The Lady Eagles of Emmaus took the court for the first time yesterday against NAIA opponent Grace University. Emmaus would enter their first game with Shelby Hembera, Sharon Tomlinson, and Kendra Gordon all out with various injuries along with Nakiah Kimble who limped off the court in the 2nd quarter. Sharp shooter Rachel West will return to the team after the Volleyball team concludes their season on November 12th.

The 1st half started out with jitters as Emmaus missed open opportunities to score while turning the ball over on the offensive end. Grace being in their 5th game showed to be an advantage as they looked much more comfortable on the court. However, the stifling defense of Emmaus held Grace to just 22 points in the first half and showed that they will be very exciting to watch on the defensive end this season.
The second half the young eagles looked much more comfortable as the team began to pull together in chemistry and unity to pull out a victory 56-49. Madison Laib led with 23 points followed by freshman Kaila Shock who chipped in 14.
The Lady Eagles will continue against NAIA opponents as Clarke University comes to Pollard field-house tomorrow.
