Emmaus Sweeps Doubleheader

The Emmaus Bible College Eagles had a doubleheader on Saturday against Spurgeon College and Moody Bible Institute and came away victorious in both matches.
In a close match against Spurgeon, Emmaus won the first two sets 28-26, and 25-17, but found themselves level following defeats in the next two sets (20-25, 22-25). They rallied to win the fifth and final set 16-14 and edged out a victory in dramatic fashion. The match was tight throughout, as the total point finals involved Emmaus finishing with 111 points, while Spurgeon was just behind them with 107, only a four point difference over the five sets.
In their match against Moody, Emmaus pressed on with a strong performance and a straight sets victory by a score of 25-16, 25-23, and 25-16. The Eagles demonstrated consisent play thoughout the match in closing out the three sets.
Coach Hannah Richter adds: "Having two wins at home over the weekend was a great momentum boost for the team! We had some tough moments, but our culture helped carry us through those. I loved the growth that we as coaches saw this weekend, and am looking forward to the rest of our season!"
Next up: The Eagles will play Mount Mary University at home in Pollard Fieldhouse on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:00 PM.
