Eagles Fall on the Road in Top 10 Matchup
The #7 Emmaus University women's volleyball team dropped a conference road match on Tuesday night, falling 3–0 to #6 Faith Baptist Bible College by scores of 25–20, 25–19, 25–19.
The Eagles battled throughout the evening, but struggled to sustain offensive momentum, finishing with 27 kills against 29 errors. Senior Kaitlin Rahn led the attack with 7 kills and 7 digs, while Selah Gregory added 5 kills and 3 blocks. Alice Green chipped in 4 kills, and Maddie Wise and Lindsey McIlveen each contributed 2.
In the back row, libero Jennika Beach anchored the defense with 13 digs, supported by Stephanie Hodges with 8 and Rahn with 7. At the service line, Brooke Hodges recorded 2 aces, while Beach and Beverly Cummins each added one.
Setter Michelle Striley directed the offense with 15 assists and added 3 kills of her own, while Hodges contributed 7 assists and a block. Emmaus posted 40 digs and 4 team blocks in the match.
Faith Baptist was led by Codie Wirges, who tallied a match-high 11 kills on .333 hitting along with 3 service aces. The hosts finished with 31 kills, 8 aces, and 46 digs.
With the loss, Emmaus falls to 2–7 overall, 0–2 in conference play. The Eagles continue their road swing later this week at Olivet Nazarene (2-13) on Saturday at 2:00.
