Eagles get Statement Win in Lightwell Trophy Match
The Emmaus University women's volleyball team turned in one of its most complete performances of the season on Tuesday night, defeating #4 Faith Baptist Bible College 3–1 (19–25, 26–24, 26–24, 25–22) in the Lightwell Insurance Advisors trophy match. The win moves the Eagles to 5-10 on the season.
After dropping the opening set, the Eagles found their rhythm in the second, fueled by strong serving and defensive execution. Emmaus battled through several long rallies and key momentum swings, edging out back-to-back 26–24 wins in the second and third sets before closing the match with a determined 25–22 victory in the fourth.
Selah Gregory led the offensive charge with a dominant night at the net, recording 14 kills on .444 hitting to go with 4 block assists. Kaitlin Rahn added 12 kills and 13 digs, providing steady leadership on both ends of the floor.
Setter Michelle Striley directed the attack with 37 assists and 11 digs, while Jennika Beach anchored the back row with a team-high 21 digs. Brooke Hodges was a force at the net, contributing 6 total blocks, and Alice Green added 7 kills and 10 digs in another balanced effort.
As a team, Emmaus hit .150 with 45 kills and 92 digs, while holding Faith Baptist to a .110 attack percentage. The Eagles' front-line defense was key down the stretch, totaling 7 team blocks to seal the match.
