November 1, and 2, 2024 – Dubuque, IA – The Emmaus Women's Volleyball team faced two challenging matchups this weekend, suffering a 3-0 defeat to Faith and a 3-2 loss to Calvary over the weekend. Both games presented tough competition for Emmaus, but the team displayed resilience and determination.
In their first match, the Emmaus Eagles fell to Faith in three sets: 22-25, 14-25, 13-25.
Key performances came from senior Kaitlin Rahn, who led the team with 8 kills and 9 points, and Selah Gregory, who contributed 5 kills and 5.5 points. Despite the defeat, Emmaus remained competitive, showing strong defensive efforts, particularly from Jennika Beach, who had 21 digs, and Beverly Cummins and Michelle Striley, who both contributed 9 digs each.
In their second match, The Eagles played an exciting third place against Calvary but ultimately lost 3-2 in a five-set contest: 25-15, 22-25, 25-19, 21-25, 16-18.
The match was a back-and-forth affair, with Emmaus taking the first and third sets comfortably. Kaitlin Rahn again led the offense with 16 kills and 18 points, while Selah Gregory contributed 15 kills and 18.5 points. The Eagles showed great fight, especially in the long rallies, but fell short in the final set, where they struggled to maintain offensive efficiency.
