Emmaus Battles Hard in Home Conference Match Against #6Faith Baptist Bible
The Emmaus University men's soccer team put together a gritty defensive effort on Tuesday afternoon but came up short in a 2–0 loss to conference opponent #6 Faith Baptist Bible College at Jack Fish Field.
The Eagles matched the visiting Faith squad stride for stride through much of the first half, absorbing early pressure and finding chances of their own in transition. Sophomore Bennett Kreiner and freshman Asuan Tomlinson each tested the Faith back line, while Claudius Holzman nearly broke through with a header chance in the opening minutes.
Faith struck first in the 36th minute when Parker Lundberg converted a shot, giving the visitors a 1–0 lead at halftime. Emmaus came out of the break with renewed energy, maintaining composure and creating a few promising attacking sequences, but Faith doubled their advantage in the 70th minute through Cody Clark, again assisted by Lundberg and Quintana.
Emmaus goalkeeper Tucker Kapas turned in another strong performance, making six saves on the day while facing 31 total shots. The Eagles' defensive unit, anchored by John David Miller, Seth Karl, and Asuan Tomlinson, stayed organized throughout, limiting Faith to difficult attempts for much of the contest.
Offensively, Emmaus tallied six total shots with one on target, coming from Kreiner in the first half. Despite the result, the Eagles showed resilience and work rate throughout the full 90 minutes in front of their home crowd.
With the result, Emmaus moves to 3–6–2 overall and 1–2–2 in conference play. The bounce back quickly, hosting #8 Central Christian College of the Bible on Friday at 4:00.
