The Emmaus University men's soccer team battled to a gritty 0–0 draw on the road Saturday afternoon against conference opponent Central Christian. The Eagles showed resilience on defense and composure under pressure, earning their first shutout of the season against one of the top teams in the MCCC standings.
The back line held firm throughout both halves as goalkeeper Tucker Kapas turned in an outstanding performance, recording five saves over the full 90 minutes to preserve the clean sheet. His command of the box and timely stops anchored a disciplined defensive effort for Emmaus.
Offensively, the Eagles created several strong chances with 10 total shots, including four on target. Ben Spangler, James Stsudinger, and Caleb Hunter each put shots on goal, while Bennett Kreiner and Evann Kumar applied pressure up front with multiple attacking opportunities.
Central Christian, entering the match at 11–2–2 overall, managed 11 shots of their own, but the Emmaus defense consistently turned away threats in the final third.
The draw moves Emmaus to 3–9–1 overall and 1–3–3 in conference play, while extending their streak of competitive outings late in the season.
