The Emmaus University women's volleyball team gave their home fans plenty to cheer about on Saturday, earning a pair of straight-set victories inside Pollard Fieldhouse. The Eagles opened the day with a 3–0 sweep of Spurgeon College (25–23, 25–22, 25–20) and followed it up with a dominant 3–0 win over Moody Bible Institute (25–15, 25–21, 25–13).
The morning match against Spurgeon marked Emmaus' first victory of the season, as the Eagles delivered timely kills and tough defense to fend off late rallies in each set. Kaitlin Rahn powered the offense with 17 kills and 15 digs. In another highlight of her day, Rahn broke the Emmaus record for most kills in a season, surpassing the 654 mark left by Allie (Howard) Hertz (2015-2019). Selah Gregory added 8 kills and 3 blocks, while Michelle Striley guided the attack with 30 assists. Jennika Beach led the back row with 14 digs, and Alice Green chipped in with 5 kills and steady defense.
Building on that momentum, the Eagles carried their energy into the afternoon matchup against Moody Bible. Rahn turned in another standout performance, recording 18 kills on a .318 hitting percentage to go along with 11 digs and 4 service aces for a match-best 22 points. Gregory again made her presence felt at the net with 10 kills and 3 blocks, and Beverly Cummins contributed 2 kills, 8 digs, and 2 service aces. Striley tallied 31 assists and 13 digs, while Beach once more anchored the defense with 14 digs.
As a team, Emmaus totaled 79 kills, 110 digs, and 17 service aces across the two matches, while holding their opponents to a combined hitting percentage of just .028.
